Low-Altitude Security at the 2019 Dalian Davos Forum
The Importance of the Forum
In 2019, the Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum, widely known as the Dalian Davos Forum, was grandly held. This was a high-end global economic exchange event. Elites from all walks of life, business leaders, and politicians from various countries gathered in Dalian. The wisdom from different fields around the world collided here. Many cutting-edge topics concerning future economic trends, technological innovation, and international cooperation were discussed. Its influence radiated globally and attracted much attention.
The Significance of Low-Altitude Security
During such a grand event, low-altitude security work played a vital role. With the popularization of low-altitude flying vehicle technologies like drones, while bringing convenience, they also hid risks. If an unauthorized drone flew into the sky above the forum, it might interfere with normal communication signals, affect on-site security monitoring, and even carry dangerous items or conduct malicious filming, endangering the personal safety of participants and the smooth progress of the forum. Therefore, ensuring the safety and stability of the low-altitude area was an essential part of the entire security system.
Our Heavy Responsibilities
Our team was lucky to be entrusted with the important task of handling the low-altitude security work for the 2019 Dalian Davos Forum. Our core tasks included closely monitoring the surrounding airspace and quickly checking for potential threats. On the one hand, using advanced radar monitoring equipment, we scanned the low-altitude area continuously for 24 hours to capture the traces of any flying objects in real time. On the other hand, we deployed professional jamming equipment. Once a suspicious drone was found, we could quickly take measures to make it land or deviate from its course, keeping it away from the airspace of the venue.
Overcoming Numerous Difficulties
During the execution of the task, we encountered many problems. As a coastal city, Dalian had strong and changeable sea winds, which posed a great challenge to predicting the flight path of drones. Moreover, the electromagnetic environment around the city was complex. The interference generated by numerous electronic devices and communication base stations easily led to misjudgments by the monitoring equipment. To solve these problems, our technicians stayed on duty day and night, constantly adjusting the parameters of the equipment. By adding auxiliary calibration devices, we improved the accuracy of monitoring. At the same time, we strengthened cooperation with the meteorological department to obtain wind force, wind direction and other meteorological information in advance, so as to better cope with the sea wind factor.
Successfully Completing the Mission
After unremitting efforts, during the entire period of the forum, we achieved zero accidents in low-altitude security. People from all walks of life who participated in the forum could communicate and discuss at ease, and the on-site order was in good condition. Our excellent work was highly recognized by the organizer, the security department, and the participating guests. We built a solid low-altitude safety barrier for the success of the 2019 Dalian Davos Forum and also accumulated valuable experience for low-altitude security of similar large-scale events in the future.
